    1. The Asset of the Week is Personal Power

    3. Come to the 12th meeting of Business Club on Tuesday, May 2nd, after-school from 3:00-3:45 PM. (Watkins)
    4. Monday, May 1st, the Union Roller Hockey club will meet during lunch in Room 22. Anyone playing in the club or interested in hockey is welcome to attend. (Guglielmo)
    5. Congrats to the 6th Grade Intermediate Band who performed last Saturday at Monta Vista HS and received EXCELLENT ratings from all four judges at the festival!  You were the youngest band at the festival and scored just as high as some of the high school groups! Good luck to the Symphonic Band, who performs at the CMEA Band festival this Saturday at Cupertino MS! (Kay)
    6. Don’t forget Relay For Life is this Friday, April 28th from 6:00 pm - to 6:00pm Saturday, April 29th at Dartmouth Middle School (Carreras)
    7. Attention all 7th grade students: Would you like to visit the Smithsonian Museums? Have you been to the battlefields in Gettysburg? Are you interested in visiting George Washington's home? The 2018 8th grade Washington, DC trip will be here before you know it! Don't miss the 2018 DC Information Meeting on Monday, May 8th! The meeting will be from 6:00 - 7:30pm in the UMS gym. This meeting is mandatory for parents and students. Registration is limited and will fill up quickly! Parent and student must attend the meeting in order to receive DC registration information.     8. Tickets are on sale now for our Drama Club production of School House Rock Live! The show is coming up soon and runs May 4th through the 7th. Tickets will be $13 online and at the door. UMS students have the option of purchasing reserved tickets online for $13, or at the door for $7.00 with a UMS student I.D.     9. The 8th grade Panoramic picture is on Friday, May 5th. Orders forms will be distributed in homeroom classes. All orders are prepaid and no late orders. Bring your forms on picture day. (Wu)

  4. Would you like to congratulate your 8th grade Musical student on his/her job well done, give a special "shout out" to your graduating 8th grader? You can purchase a dedication to be printed in the May 2017 Concert Program. 100 characters or less for only $10, enter your dedication into "notes for the merchant" during checkout process on our Music Boosters web store, www.UMSmusicboosters.com Deadline to submit is 5-5-17.
  5. ATTN 8th GRADE PARENTS: We need permission slips and donations ASAP for 8th Grade Grad Night! This is such a special night for our 8th graders and we'd love everyone to attend! We only have 1/2 turned in and forms are needed for your student to attend this fun event! You can donate and print permission slip here: http://www.unionhsc.org/grad-dance.html  Also, please get your pictures in for the photo wall! (Gabriel/Yannoni)
  6. The Drama Club is looking for donations for their concessions stand. We will be collecting sodas, bottled water, individually wrapped candy, or anything else "snack" related. Spring sports are wrapping up, so if you're looking for some place to donate the extra Snack Bar items, we'll take them. Drop off in the front office. Donations accepted through May 1.   7. 8th Grade Panoramic Pictures is on Friday, May 5th. Order forms will be distributed in homeroom classes. The panoramics pics are pre-pay only and no late orders. Please turn in forms on picture day. You may also order order online  with Lifetouch. (Wu)
  8. Parents of current UMS 7th Grade Students: The mandatory Information Meeting for DC 201​8​ will take place on ​Monday, May ​8 from 6:​0​0- 7:30 in the UMS gym. This meeting is mandatory for parents AND students interested in DC 201​8​. Registration information will only be given to parents and students that attend this meeting. Registration is limited to the first 1​50​ students--this ​will be the only opportunity to register for DC 201​8​. **​Raffle​ tickets will be sold ​for CASH this night only for a FREE STUDENT TRIP TO DC.** Questions? Be a part of Union’s time honored tradition…Buy Leis and Bouquets for your favorite 8th grader for promotion.  Visit kahunaflowers.com to order orchid leis, kukui nut leis or rose bouquets for that special graduate (personalized school logo kukui available for pre-orders only).  Pre-ordered flowers will be available for pick up at the booth at our Graduation site (June 9, 2017).   10. Attention 6th Grade Parents:Please make sure your student has the required TDAP Whooping Cough Booster. This is a California requirement prior to 7th grade entry. Your student cannot be enrolled into the 7th grade for the 2017-2018 school year until proof of the TDAP booster and all other identified immunizations have been received.
