Dr. Bonnie Halpern-Felsher of Stanford University will provide detailed information on new tobacco/nicotine products, including vapes, Juuls and other pod-based systems. These devices are now more commonly used among teens than combustible cigarettes and are growing in popularity.
She will discuss recent research on why adolescents use these products, including flavors, appeal, marketing, ease/place of use and common misperceptions. She will also review evidence-based resources and strategies that can be used to help prevent and reduce the use of these products.
